Job Title: Greeter
Accountable to: Team Leader
Specific duties:
1. Greet visitors
2. Customer relations
3. Answering phone duties
Qualifications: Must be a member of the museum – $25 annual fee member level or higher.
Skills: A people person, works well with public.
Training requirements: Initial training 12 hours.
Time commitment: 12 hours per month.

 

Job Title: Data Entry
Accountable to: Director
Specific duties:
1. Maintain database
2. Some customer relations
Qualifications: Must be a member of the museum – $25 annual fee member level or higher.
Basic computer skills
Skills: Placement will be based on displayed competency, accuracy and efficiency.
Education: This position is limited to those who have completed the 10th grade.
Experience: Database software experience is a plus!
Other: The Data Entry position works closely with the director.
Training requirements: On the job training.
Time commitment: Flexible

 

Job Title: Docent – Adult tour guide
Accountable to: Weekly Team Leader
Specific duties:
1. Conduct one-hour Depot tours to groups of adults
Qualifications: Must be a member of the museum – $25 annual fee member level or higher. This position is limited to those 18 years and older.
Skills: A people person, works well with public.
Experience: No experience necessary, we will train you. Placement will be based on displayed competency, accuracy and efficiency.
Training requirements: Tour reviews and Operation Lifesaver training (day training)
Time commitment: 12 tours per year.

 

Job Title: Docent – Children’s Education
Accountable to: Weekly Team Leader
Specific duties:
1. On site tours and programs
2. Education Fairs and in-school presentations
Qualifications: Must be a member of the museum – $25 annual fee member level or higher. This position is limited to those 18 years and older.
Skills: A people person, works well with public.
Experience: No experience necessary, we will train you. Previous experience working with children is a plus. Placement will be based on displayed competency, accuracy and efficiency.
Training requirements: Tour reviews and Operation Lifesaver training (day training)
Time commitment: 12 tours/presentations per year.

 

Job Title: Team Leader
Accountable to: Director
Specific duties:
1. Attends bi-monthly update meetings and conveys information to his/her team
2. Coordinates volunteers for specific days
Qualifications: Must be a member of the museum – $25 annual fee member level or higher. This position is limited to those 18 years and older.
Skills: A people person, works well with public.
Experience: No experience necessary, we will train you. Placement will be based on displayed competency, accuracy and efficiency.
Training requirements: 12 hours per month.

 

Job Title: Gift Shop Attendant
Accountable to: Gift Shop Team Leader
Specific duties:
1. Gift shop sales
2. Customer relations
3. Assist team leader in reordering and merchandising the gift shop
Qualifications: Must be a member of the museum – $25 annual fee member level or higher. This position is limited to those 18 years and older.
Skills: A people person, works well with public.
Experience: No experience necessary, we will train you. Placement will be based on displayed competency, accuracy and efficiency.
Training requirements: 12 hours per month.

 

Job Title: Collections Assistant
Accountable to: Collections Director
Specific duties:
1. Cataloging
2. Assisting public in handling archives
3. Customer relations
Qualifications: Must be a member of the museum – $25 annual fee member level or higher. This position is limited to those 18 years and older.
Skills: A people person, works well with public.
Experience: Archival cataloging experience a plus. No experience necessary, we will train you. Placement will be based on displayed competency, accuracy and efficiency.
Training requirements: 12 hours per month.

 

Job Title: Advisory Board Member
Accountable to:  Management Committee
Specific duties:
1. Cultivate and accomplish museum fundraising
2. Provide consultation to the Management Committee
Qualifications: Must be a member of the museum – $25 annual fee member level or higher. This position is limited to those 18 years and older.
Skills: A person willing to share ideas and experience to better the museum. A positive attitude and community connections are highly valued.
Experience: Previous board experience a plus. Placement will be based on displayed competency, accuracy and efficiency.
Training requirements: Quarterly meetings and fundraising activities

 

Job Title: Management Committee
Specific duties:
1. Provide long-term goals and solutions
2. Cultivate and accomplish museum fundraising
3. Oversee museum in special projects and events
Qualifications: Must be a member of the museum – $25 annual fee member level or higher. This position is limited to those 18 years and older.
Skills: A person willing to share ideas and experience to better the museum. A positive attitude and community connections are highly valued.
Experience: Previous board experience a plus. Placement will be based on displayed competency, accuracy and efficiency.
Training requirements: Monthly meetings plus sub-committee meetings
